What does Santa ask my child during the call?

Short answer

Simple, warm questions: what do you love doing, what makes you laugh, is the tree up, what will you put out for the reindeer. Never an address, never a promise.

The details

Every call follows a short story with a problem your child solves. The questions come from that story: the empty page in the Big Book, the smudged wish, the countdown in the sleigh, the sleeping reindeer.

Santa asks one question at a time and reacts to the answer before the next. He uses your child's name and the note you wrote.

He never asks where you live, which school, or a phone number. He never promises a specific present. He never threatens with a naughty list.

If your child goes quiet, Santa asks something smaller. If your child talks about something sad, Santa listens kindly and gently returns to the story.

You can whisper to Santa during the call, for example 'ask about the drawing'. Your child does not hear your whisper.
